Ilias Assimakopoulos

Ilias is a senior international business leader with 30 years experience in the EMEA region, creating value for some of the world’s most respected CPG companies like The Gillette Company & Reckitt Benckiser. He is adept at identifying value opportunities, building higher performing capabilities needed to enable business & brands to strategically expand across borders and achieve operational & financial excellence. Ilias was the CEO of the Agthia Group, a diversified Food & Beverage group, listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock exchange, from 2006 to 2014. He led the group’s accelerated & sustainable profitable growth, diversification and geographical expansion, while building lasting brand equity & leading share positions. He served as a Board Member of the Agthia Group between 2014-15. Prior to Agthia, Ilias was the regional GM of Reckitt Benckiser for the MENA region, and previously worked for 11 years with the Gillette Company in various commercial roles of increasing responsibility leading to a GM role for a cluster of Eastern European markets. Ilias serves as a Board Member of Enhance UAE, a CPG distribution & logistics company, Gulf Seafood, a UAE seafood processing company, & Taj Mahal Purification, a UAE water bottling company. He is also a Board member at Lootah Holding, a Dubai based business conglomerate, and a Board member of Hellenic Business Council of the UAE. Ilias served as the Chairman of the Board of Al Islami Foods of Dubai, a UAE leader in Halal frozen foods from early 2020 till the spring of 2022. Ilias holds an MBA from Boston University, attended Harvard Business School – Executive Education Advanced Management Program, and is an Economics graduate from McGill University in Montreal.
